When deciding what to wear for your photography session, it’s important to choose outfits that not only make you feel confident but also reflect the theme or mood of the shoot. Here are some tips to help you decide:
1. Comfort is Key: Wear something that you feel comfortable in. This will help you move freely and look relaxed in your photos.
2. Consider the Location and Theme: If we’re shooting outdoors, neutral tones or earth colors often blend well with nature. For indoor sessions, think about the background and lighting, and how your outfit will complement the setting.
3. Avoid Bold Patterns: Solid colors generally photograph better than busy patterns, which can be distracting. Muted or pastel shades are usually a good choice, as they bring focus to your face rather than your clothing.
4. Coordinate, Don’t Match: If there are multiple people in the shoot, aim to coordinate colors rather than matching exactly. Choose a color palette that complements each person, creating harmony without everyone wearing the same thing.
5. Add Layers and Textures: Layers like jackets, scarves, or cardigans add dimension to your photos and give you more options for different looks in one session.
6. Accessorize Thoughtfully: Accessories like hats, jewelry, or scarves can enhance your look but be careful not to overdo it. A few well-chosen pieces can elevate your outfit without becoming the main focus.
7. Shoes Matter: Make sure your shoes match the vibe of the shoot and your outfit. Avoid brightly colored shoes unless they’re a key part of your outfit.
8. Bring Options: Feel free to bring a couple of different outfits if we have time. This will allow for some variety in your photos and gives us flexibility during the session.
9. Go Big, Bold, and Fabulous: Don’t be afraid to express yourself and go all out with bold styles or statement pieces. As a creative artist, I thrive on unique and adventurous looks, so feel free to push boundaries and be fabulous! We can create some stunning and unforgettable images when you bring your most creative self.
Additionally, depending on the style of the session, I have a photographer’s wardrobe available for you to choose from. I can also style shoots with custom designs upon request or special orders.
Ultimately, wear something that makes you feel like the best version of yourself. If you have any questions about outfit choices, I’m happy to provide input to ensure your look fits the style of the shoot.
"At the time of reservation, we establish comprehensive contracts, model releases, invoices, and receipts to ensure a smooth and professional experience for both parties. These documents are essential for several reasons:
By implementing these practices, I maintain a high level of professionalism and protect the interests of everyone involved.
Tipping your photographer is always appreciated but never expected. As a professional, I price my services to reflect the time, effort, and skill involved in capturing and editing your photos. However, if you feel the service exceeded your expectations or you want to show extra appreciation for the experience, a tip is a generous and thoughtful gesture.
While tipping is not required, it’s a way to acknowledge exceptional work and effort. I'm always grateful for such kindness, but rest assured, the quality of service and dedication to your project remains the same whether or not a tip is given.
Yes, I have access to a diverse range of talented hair and makeup artists, each offering varying levels of expertise and pricing. For out-of-state sessions, I can ensure the right team is selected to match the specific needs and style of your shoot. While it’s not always essential to have an artist for every style of session, hiring one can significantly enhance the outcome. Professional hair and makeup can elevate the overall look, ensuring that you present your best self and that the final images reflect a polished and cohesive appearance. The cost will depend on the chosen artist and the complexity of the look required.
Note that hiring a hair and makeup artist is not a requirement. I am confident in my ability to capture your beauty, whether you prefer a natural look or a glamorous style. If you choose to hire one, I only work with licensed professionals who have positive attitudes and deliver excellent results.

As a licensed and insured photographer, I offer a professional and dependable service. My licensing ensures that I adhere to industry standards, while my insurance provides protection for any unforeseen issues that may arise during our sessions. Choosing to book with me means you’re working with someone who values both quality and accountability.
It’s always okay to include additional people in your photo session. If the original session is described for one person only, adding extra individuals typically incurs an additional fee of $10 per person.
When creating a custom package, it’s important to account for everyone involved beforehand to ensure a smooth session. However, last-minute additions are also welcome; simply note that there will be an extra $10 fee per person for them to join in the photos. This flexibility ensures that everyone you want to be captured is included, making your session as memorable and inclusive as possible.
Bringing a friend or loved one to your photo session is always welcome and can be a great way to ease any nerves you might have. In fact, I often suggest it if you’re feeling a bit anxious about the session. Just ensure that the person you bring respects the space and doesn't impose their opinions or direct you in ways that conflict with the photographer’s vision and yours.
Family and friends can be a wonderful support during your session, but please note that I generally don’t recommend bringing young children unless the session is specifically for family or baby/toddler photos. This helps maintain the focus and flow of the session while ensuring everyone has the best experience possible.

3. Outfits: Bring a variety of outfits that fit the theme of the session. Ensure they are clean, ironed, and suitable for the style of photography.
4. Pre-Consultation: Schedule a pre-session consultation with me to discuss your vision, preferences, and any specific requirements.
5. Hair and Makeup: Have your hair and makeup done before arriving. This ensures you’re camera-ready and helps streamline the session.
6. Eat Well: Have a good meal before the session. Avoid heavy, bloating foods and don’t come on an empty stomach to prevent discomfort.
7. Snacks and Water: Always bring snacks and water, especially for outdoor or lengthy sessions. You might need to refuel between shots.
8. Special Needs: If you’re pregnant or have any mobility issues, bring an extra person or family member for assistance and support.
9. No Alcohol or Drugs: Refrain from drinking alcohol or using drugs the day before or on the day of the session. Clear thinking is essential for transportation, posing, and overall performance.
10. Clean Nails: Ensure your nails are clean and well-groomed. This makes a noticeable difference on camera, especially in close-up shots.
11. Inspiration Board: Create an inspiration board on Pinterest or compile a file of references to share with me. This helps communicate your expectations and vision for the session.
12. Medications and Allergies: Carry any necessary medications and epi pens for allergic reactions. Inform me in advance of any medical conditions or allergies so that I can accommodate your needs and ensure your safety.
13. Embrace the Moment: Come prepared to let go, have fun, and be authentically yourself. The best photos capture you at your most genuine and radiant.
14. Communication: If you have any special ideas or concerns, please communicate them via email or text before the session. Be honest about how you're feeling so I can adjust and capture the best images possible.
15. Modeling or Family Sessions:
- For Modeling: Be prepared to change outfits and styles quickly. Practice posing beforehand if possible.
- For Family Sessions: Coordinate outfits and bring any props or items that are meaningful to your family. Be patient and flexible, especially with young children or pets.
16. Know where you going:
Look ahead at where your session is and give yourself plenty of breathing room to be at least 15 minutes early from your booked time. Make sure you have plenty of gas and your car is up to date on service. Carry all insurance, registration, and emergency needs. Some locations are off- road, be sure to let me know if you do not have all wheel or 4wheel drive. Not all locations are equipped for more than 2 vehicles. I'm happy to carpool for adventures.
Following these guidelines will help ensure a smooth and successful photo session!
